Williamstown

 

Williamstown is West Virginia’s Welcome Center and many travelers stop here as they enter West Virginia on I77 for information, maps and attractions.

Williamstown, located North of Parkesburg and Vienna and across the Ohio River from Marietta, Ohio has a population of 2974 in July 2007.

An idyllic traditional small town, Williamstown, is proud of its many churches, local Williamstown Bank, Tomlinson Park, antique shops and its local Williamstown schools.

 In December 2008, Williamstown High School became the Class A state football champion of West Virginia when the Yellowjackets accomplished what no other Williamstown had ever done and their fans went wild. 

The Willamstown Lions Club has an annual pancake breakfast to support their projects, one being the new Williamstown Healthy Lifestyle Pool just completed.

The Williamstown Volunteer Fire Company annual ice cream social in July is celebrated by one and all at the Park like a family homecoming. 

Area runners and walkers alike love to take turns around the track at the Jack Jones Track and Field Complex at Williamstown High School.

Fenton Glass, long Williamstown’s largest employer, is a joy to visit as was recorded at insider pages.com “Worth a trip to WV to visit Fenton!We visited Fenton Glass factory in 2005 & it was definitely worth the long trip!  The main gift shop is a Fenton-collectors dream, with an area of limited editions and separate section for lower price seconds.”

Williamstown newest employer is Hino Motors, manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty trucks. 

The Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport, is located a few miles East of Williamstown on Route 31 and provides non-stop service to Washington Dulles International Airport.

 A new subdivision, Cooper’s Lane, has 30 home sites with underground utilities, great for folks looking for one floor living. 

There were 47 sales in Boaz/Williamstown in 2008, with a median sales price of $123,000.
